Autonomous mining, industrial digitalization, and trust – these three factors are shaping the future of heavy industry
As a Saxon-based, technology-driven software and systems company, staff-eye develops customized software solutions for demanding industrial applications. A particular focus is placed on autonomous systems in mining and heavy industry, where safety, reliability, and scalability are critical.

Especially in such highly complex industrial environments, it becomes clear:
successful autonomy does not arise from technology alone, but from partnership-based collaboration, trust, and a shared vision among operators, technology partners, and integrators.
Impressive scale – and enormous potential for autonomy
The scale on site is exceptional:
- the 501-meter-long F60 conveyor bridge
- bucket-wheel excavators with diameters of up to 25 meters
- parallel mining faces with over 300,000 tons of material moved per day
Gleichzeitig befindet sich der Tagebau im Wandel – hin zur Rekultivierung und nachhaltigen Nutzung.

This is exactly where there is enormous potential for autonomous vehicles, intelligent control and assistance systems:
they can increase occupational safety, make processes more efficient, and actively support the sustainable transformation of such mega-sites.
Industrial autonomy from Saxony – for Europe
What we see here is impressive engineering excellence from the region — and a strong environment for the next stage of industrial autonomy.

Bergbau begeistert. Autonomie gestaltet die Zukunft.
